Nature Energy announces new Chairman of the Board

Jesper Lok has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of Nature Energy. The former CEO of DSB and current Chairman of Dagrofa takes over from Peter Gæmelke, who will continue in the organization as Senior Executive Advisor. Jesper Lok began as Chairman from the 15th of September 2021.

Jesper Lok is looking forward to his role as Chairman of Nature Energy.

“I feel very fortunate to take on this role in Nature Energy, Europe’s largest producer of climate-friendly biogas. I also know that I have big shoes to fill. Since the company’s beginning, Peter Gæmelke has been a key driver for Nature Energy’s development and he has played an important role in the transformation of Nature Energy,” says Jesper Lok.

Peter Gæmelke has been Chairman of Nature Energy since the company was founded in 2012, and he is proud of the company’s achievements.

“Biogas is one of the most essential green energy sources in society today, and I have been pleased to play such an active role in the development of large-scale biogas production as chairman of Nature Energy, and now I look forward to continuing this work as Senior Executive Advisor,” says Peter Gæmelke.

Since the construction of Nature Energy Holsted in 2015, the company has created a series of large-scale biogas plants in Denmark, and now Nature Energy owns and operates 11 biogas plants in Denmark while two more Danish plants are on their way. Nature Energy is also actively developing new projects in multiple international markets, building on the strong international plant construction experience of its business development unit.

Ole Hvelplund, CEO of Nature Energy, is pleased that Peter Gæmelke is continuing his work at Nature Energy as Senior Executive Advisor.

“Nature Energy has a lot to thank Peter Gæmelke for. In many ways, he is a very experienced person, and he has been a vital part of the company since the very beginning,” says Ole Hvelplund.

Nature Energy is already active in France and in the near future the large biogas producer expects to increase its footprint significantly in foreign markets. Here, Jesper Lok brings know-how and perspectives from his previous senior executive positions in multiple countries on several continents.

“Our ambition is to expand into new markets and start producing biogas in other parts of the world where it will play a fundamental role in the green transition. The Nature Energy team looks forward to benefiting from the comprehensive knowledge of expansion and internationalization that Jesper Lok will bring with him to our company,” says Ole Hvelplund.
